I took this photo at my parents house with my camera on top of my mothers jewelry stand:)Time
This was taken in the early afternoon although the room that I was in there wasn't a lot of natural light so I had to set up a light for it.Lighting
I was fresh out of photography school so I was still learning the ropes with lighting and such. It was a single light placed just above my head to the side.Equipment
I did use artificial light however I did not have a tripod with me so I just threw my camera on top of my mothers jewelry stand and got down on my knees to be level with it:)Inspiration
I was in a somewhat unique place in my life at this time. I had just graduated and also was going threw a divorce. I was confused as to where my life was going and was on a path of self discovery. So whatever I did I had my camera with me. I started doing a lot of self portraits to help me threw my hard times and figure out where I wanted to take my photography.Editing
I of course threw this photo into a black and white version. I actually shot it in black and white and then edited it on my computer the to look the same. I smoothed my skin on my nose some, but other than that I wanted it to be exactly how I was in that moment.In my camera bag
I use to have have a canon 5d mark ll which Thai photo was taken with and I loved using my 50mm. I have since upgraded to the mark lV, but still love my 50mm along with my 70-200mm, 100mm, 24-105mm and my 16-24mmFeedback
Honestly to remake a photo like this...just get inside your head while your alone and start clicking! Be in the moment, try different things and hold nothing back!
