Five hours west of Tokyo, Japan is Jigokudani Yaen National Park, which has become best known for the 160 snow monkeys who make their winter home in the hot springs. Each morning the snow monkeys come down from the steep mountains to spend the day in the hot springs. While sitting in the springs I caught this snow monkey inspecting the teeth and gums of its mate.
