Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in Paris, France. I was on their metro one evening from Hopital Jean Jaures. It was my first time in fact that I had ventured that far out on their metro.

Time

I think this was taken early evening.

Lighting

Not much to say about the lighting, I worked with what was in front of me. I think it was more the scene that attracted me to take the picture.

Equipment

Camera technology has improved significantly, this shot was taken on my Google Nexus (Now known as Pixel).

Inspiration

I think it was more the scene that attracted me to take the picture. The guy on the left has his "I'm tired from a busy day at work yawn" The man reading his paper/book on the right. AND the lady in the middle, who I only actually noticed days after taking the shot that she was looking at me!

Editing

Just a little, originally taken in colour but the Black and White just had more drama to it.

In my camera bag

I always have my Fujifilm XPro2, Fujifilm XC 35mm and auto Chinon 50mm lens and a spare battery or two. I pretty much never leave home without those, unless I'm shooting wide then I swap them with either the Fujicron 18mm or 16mm.

Feedback

If you see a great scene, pull out your camera and shoot. This picture, I was discreet, had to be in order to get this particular shot. I would say do the same. Visualize it, aim and shoot. Don't be afraid to crop, you can always crop your image afterwards to make a picture you think doesn't work to work!
