This doe let me follow her through the woods, and promptly posed for me in the woods for a good 25 minutes before I finally had to return home (it was getting dark). She's a beautiful creature, and seems to have an air of nobility that emanates from her. She's a little bit of magic, that's for sure.

Location
This was taken in the park a block from my home.Time
I took this in the late afternoon, around 3pm, on one of my usual excursions to this park to escape reality for awhile.Lighting
It was fairly overcast that day, so I shot with an f/2.8 for more light, but to also limit the dof. I wanted the focus to be solely on the deer.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon d750 and a Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 lens. My favorite combination!Inspiration
I love deer, and many people find them a nuisance, but they are curious, silly, and inquisitive creatures. I try to capture that through my photos of them so that people may see them in a different light.Editing
I typically don't do much processing to my wildlife photos - here, I boosted the clarity and sharpness a fraction, along with the vibrance, to fully capture the richness in color of the leaves in person. In my camera bag
I typically carry batteries, lens cloths, extra lens caps, 70-200 f/2.8, sigma fisheye (which I frequently use), Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 and 50 mm f/1.4Feedback
Be patient. Wildlife won't pose for you, so you have to work on developing their trust if you intent to photograph an animal frequently. I've been photographing the same deer community by my home for nearly five years now, so they are more at ease around me, which enables me to capture more intimate moments of them.
