Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a wetland area just west of Lyngby, few kilometers from Copenhagen.

Time

Early afternoon.

Lighting

Natural lighting. It's fall and many trees have lost many of their leaves. The sun shines through the bare trees and branches and hits the bridge in a partial way.

Equipment

I was taking a walk in the area with my Nikon D3300. I've just bought my 105mm sigma macro lens and it was mounted on my camera. Nowdays i use my D810, but it was early in my photo "career" so I only had the D3300 at that time. The shot is handheld. F8.0, 1/100s, ISO400.

Inspiration

The big inspiration is fall with all the warm, yellow and orange colours. The combination of sun, water and nature always inspires me. It's a mixture that always works for me.

Editing

I'm very often using Lightroom for post-processing. In this case the processing helped enhancing the colours. My camera settings were a bit off and the post-processing helped me correct that.

In my camera bag

My camera and some of my favourite 3 lenses that I often use. Tamron 15-30, Nikkor 24-85 and Nikkor 80-400mm. Sometimes i also take my Sigma 105mm along when i know i'll be shooting small stuff.

Feedback

Use your eyes and take your time. Nature always has something ready for you. It's always good to plan a little bit and check your weather. Of course you can grab your camera in any wather and get some cool shots. But if you know a nice place, plan the trip on a sunny day, know a lake or two in the area, then it will easily come to you.
