The downpour came swift, and soaked through my waterproofs and thermals. The dog sheltered under a nearby rock and stared with a look that said "why did you bring me here?"... The sky remained menacing, but there was a hint of brightness that brought out the detail of the the glen.

There is joy in exploring the beautiful gloom of Scotland.
