Charyn Canyon - a natural monument, built of sedimentary rocks, whose age is about 12 million years. The height of the steep canyon hills up to 150-300 m.
The most interesting place for tourists is the so-called Valley of the castles, the length of which is about 2 km, width - 20-80 m.
In the bosom of the canyon is preserved grove of relict species of ash, survived the era of glaciation - Sogdian ash. Another similar grove is only in North America. Since 1964, the Ash Grove declared a natural monument. Also of great interest is and turanga Grove - Grove Asian poplar.
