Location
This photo was captured at Cocoa Beach, FL while visiting family. I'm a self taught photographer, and this was a shot that wasn't planned, just happened and I was at the right place and time to capture it.Time
4:11pm on 10/22/2016.Lighting
The sun was at a good angle to highlight the Hawk and to be honest, wasn't paying attention to the lighting. I was more focused on what I saw and how it got my attention.Equipment
NIKON D5200 -400 -1/1500 sec -F5.6 -300.0 mm HandheldInspiration
I was watching Crows on a light post over a bridge and watching how they kept aggravating the Hawk. I had taken appx 40 plus shots and just when the Hawk had enough and was flying off, I managed to capture this shot. My brother was also taking photo's and missed this one.Editing
Only minimal post-processing done with PhotoShop with some cropping and color. In my camera bag
I like variety and preparedness. In my bag I have Nikon D5200 body with lens: DX-AF-S Nikkor 18-55 mm 1:35-5.6G DX-AF=S Nikkor 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 GED DX-AF=S Micro Nikkor 40mm 1:2.8 Multiple lights, rings, tripod, filters etc.Feedback
Always be aware of your surroundings and possibilities, especially with landscapes, people and animals. You never know what may happen right before you eyes. Experiencing nature and all it brings is very rewarding in photography to me. As I stated earlier, I'm self taught and still have a lot to learn, however I like to capture what my heart feels and my eyes see that can end up in a rewarding shot. One piece of advice would be, never give up, your rewards will be great.
