Location
This photo was taken in a parking lot for old trains in Brno - city in the Czech Republic. The guard at the gate did not prevent us from entering, but when we wanted to leave, we find out that we were locked inside the area with our car.Time
I think it was around noon, so we used to photograph the places in the wagons to avoid sharp light. It was a little bit dangerous because the floors in the wagons were leaking and rotten. And it was really hot inside the metal wagon.Lighting
I did not use any additional sources or a reflective plate for lighting. I had somehow lighted the interior of the wagon to avoid such a large contrast difference between the interior and the outside. So next time I will do it differently - better.Equipment
I used the Canon eos 5D mark II with the Sigma 24mm f / 1.4 ART, which is my favorite lens. I love it for its fantastic sharpness and I like the bokeh - it's blurry but still distinct. Distinctive background help me to make a story in the photo.Inspiration
This styling was completely the idea of Katka. She thought old rusty wagons and pioneering uniform would be a good combination. And I had to agree with her because it looked fantastic.Editing
I developed raw in Adobe Lightroom. Then I used the frequency separation retouch, dodge & burn technique, I did some coloring and finally sharpened the photo. In my camera bag
I usually have a Canon eos 5D mark III, Sigma 24mm f / 1.4 ART, Sigma 50mm f / 1.4 ART and universal Canon 24-105 f / 4 IS. Most often I'm taking pictures with Sigma 24mm. I also have Peak Design accessories and straps in my backpack, some filters, batteries, Gorilla Pod and sometimes Canon 80D for vlogging.Feedback
