Behind The Lens

Location
I made this photo in the magical Tuscany in Italy
Time
This photograph is one of my favorite landscapes from Tuscany. We went to a photographic trip with another photographer, a friend of mine. We had to go several times to this lovely location in order to meet the perfect combination of the sun and the mist. Finally, we were able to be at the right place at the right time. :)
Lighting
I love to underline the sun rays and the Sun, half on its way up behind the mountains helped me achieve what I was dreaming for.
Equipment
For this particular shot I used my favorite camera - Canon 5D Mark III and the lens was Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM On a tripod, of course, with stabilization being turned off.
Inspiration
I love travel photography. And Tuscany is really a magical and a very photogenic place that enchanted me. I will definitely go back there again to capture more of its beauty.
Editing
Yes, photographing against the Sun requires some post-processing. I enhanced the shadows and the overall contrast of the image and adjusted the levels of the image in order to better match what I have witnessed that glorious morning.
In my camera bag
I have several camera bags, depending on my destination. I love prime lenses so very often I go out only with my camera, a spare battery and my Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, that's a very useful and light lens. However, for this particular photo trip, I had also the Canon EF 16-35 f/2.8L II USM and Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, 3 spare batteries, a radio remote trigger, an external flash. And something very important - the cloth to clean my lens. That's very important due to the high humidity in the morning.
Feedback
Do not hurry and be persistent. Try to find enough time to plan, then observe the place and the scenery, visualize the picture in your mind and then prepare to make the desired shot.
