This photo was shot at "Painters Point" looking back to Yellowstone Falls in September.Time
I shot this image late in the day after spending the day driving all over the park looking for that one of a kind wildlife picture...you know the one where a grizzly and an elk are in a stand off pose. The mist is rising all around and the light is just right. Right. Then there it was...a tree!Lighting

When I arrived at the Yellowstone Falls, I took the obligatory touristy "I was there", record shot. Of course, that was along with several hundred bus tourists at the time. I realized that several thousand shots a day were taken at the very spot I was standing. As I looked at the falls, I couldn't take my eyes off the one and only tree on a ridge off to the right of the falls with the mist from the falls in the background. That was the shot I was looking for.Editing
I only did a little sharpening and exposure adjustment in Lightroom.In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon Mk III with a 100-400 zoom telephoto, a 1.4X teleconverter, a 24-70mm wide angle and a 16-35 super wide angle lens. I also carry a wireless remote and a Really Right Stuff tripod.Feedback
For me this shot exemplifies the adage "always look for the uncommon hidden in the common" or something like that. My only suggestion is to take the time to move around and look at the area from as many angles as you can.
