This was special day, Amanda. I was visiting a poor family in city of Pokhara, Nepal. We went out of the house into the garden and this man was just sitting there waiting for an audience. He played for 20 minutes, the family and I did folk dancing. When he finished he asked for a head of cabbage from the garden and I gave him a $1. Memerable time!

Man who plays the "sarangi" is called "Gainey" in traditional language of Nepal. Actually not anyone plays this instrument in our society, mostly the "Gandarva" peoples only plays it. this is their traditional job before and they belongs to the lower cast in Nepal. Thanks for this amazing shot. you remind my childhood. I used to follow them just to listen their songs with the soulful music of Sarangi. Love from Nepal.
