These leaves were on the ground and dew had formed on the backs of them, but not the fronts. Loved the contrast of the blue-purple underside of the leaves, next to the traditional orange-red leaves.

Location
I took this photo on one of our neighborhood boulevards in Vancouver, British Columbia.Time
This photo was taken on a crisp Fall day, when my husband and I were on one of our morning walks. This photo was taken October 8, 2016 at 11:49.Lighting
I love taking photos in morning sun. This was taken on a day when the sun was out and the moist dew was on the leaves.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7200 with a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6 ED VR Lens. Exposure was 1/2000 sec @ f/5.6. ISO 1250 with a focal length of 200mm. I didn't use a tripod or a flash.Inspiration
I was looking for new perspectives, looking straight up under the trees with their changing Fall leaves. When I looked down there were the most beautiful colors on the ground. Some leaves were face up with the traditional colors, but what caught my eye were the backsides of the leaves that had a blue and purple cast to them. The added bonus was that the morning dew was still on them.Editing
Lightroom 6 was used to tweak this image. I usually increase the contrast, down the highlights, increase the shadows, increase the whites and down the blacks. If still needed, I increase the clarity, vibrance and saturation, without going overboard. In my camera bag
Equipment in my bag varies with what kind of photos I am trying to capture. My favorite is my Nikon D7200 with a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6 ED VR lens and the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens. Also have my HOYA lens filters handy.Feedback
Take your camera with you on those sunny mornings and late afternoons. You never know what you may find on a simple walk around the neighborhood. Pay attention to how the sunlight hits things and what strikes you about the light and shadow dance that can make the most ordinary things beautiful.
