The old Pier in Weston Super Mare, This wonderful old pier is unfortunately crumbling away, although a listed building and unique in that it leads out to the tiny Birnbeck Island in the Bristol channel it has been very neglected over the years. There's a charity been formed to raise money to buy the pier from developers who seem content to let it rot away, possibly in the hope of them being able to build exclusive homes on the island, but sacrificing our heritage in the process.

I thought I recognised this pier. I came across it for the first time last year.A shame it is left how it is - but you have captured it lovely.
