Beneath the Victorian old pier at Weston Super Mare. This wonderful old pier is unfortunately crumbling away, although a listed building and unique in that it leads out to the tiny Birnbeck Island in the Bristol channel it has been very neglected over the years. There's a charity been formed to raise money to buy the pier from developers who seem content to let it rot away, possibly in the hope of them being able to build exclusive homes on the island, but sacrificing our heritage in the process.
