Bear with me on this one - though at no point when I was taking this picture did I expect it would become a tribute to a departed friend, it has ended up being just that. I took my kids out and let the ones who can walk (the older three) run around and exhaust themselves. The youngest, who is just starting to master the art of crawling, was tugging at the camera strap while I tried to compose the shot. The hazy yellow just before the golden hour as the sun began to set across the Detroit River turned the park grounds into a dreamscape through the lens of my camera. Unbeknownst to me, my cat - the one that my kids referred to as the "nurse cat" because of his unfailing ability to be with you in a time of need - was eating less and less, and coming closer to his sunset. He passed away the next day, and now "sunset fluff 1" (fitting I will say) will always remind me of him.
