While we were walking around the streets during the 2016 Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk, me and my friends encountered a bunch of children being coached to shadow box in the sidewalk. This child trains to be a boxer in the streets of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental in the Philippines. Even with makeshift gloves made from bags-sacks of flour with added padding inside, he aims to improve his skill in the ring. With the masses boasting that one of the best pound for pound king the world has seen hails from our country, fighters from all ages are eager to reach that pinnacle. But they all start somewhere. They all start in the streets through blood, sweat and tears. From worn out gloves, shoes taped up with duct tape and even making the streets their ring, kids like these fight not only for their dreams but also for the people that pushed and made them stronger.
