This is a view towards London Bridge and St Paul's cathedral at twilight. All bridges in London are lit during the night using different colour schemes. Just visible behind this bridge is Southwark bridge lit in blue-purple. There are 33 bridges across the tidal Thames with Westminster Bridge being the oldest (1862) and the newest - Millennium Bridge (2000). For some reason people often confuse London Bridge with Tower Bridge.
The old London bridge was the first crossing over Thames. It was replaced in 1931 and then famously sold to USA in 1968. The present bridge opened in 1973.
