Location
This photo was taken in the south east portion of Rome on one my last days there.Time
This photo was taken at around 3pm. We were wandering around feeling hot and tired after having outrun a torrential storm, but it turned out to be worth it.Lighting
There had just been a huge storm we had been running from so it was still somewhat overcast. It was in the afternoon so the natural lighting was great.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3300 coupled with my 50mm.Inspiration
We had just outrun a huge storm and we were tired and hot. We were going to return to our lodging but decided to stay out just a bit longer. When I saw the group of nuns it was perfect. They all had very unique profiles and were staggered in a photogenic way. I didn't notice it until afterwards but there is a woman on the left in street clothing watching them pass and for me it added a juxtaposition of lives. It is hands down one of my favorites.Editing
I switched it from color to black and white because it just felt better that way. I also played with the tones to try and bring everything out as much as I could. In my camera bag
Being a budget photographer I am limited in what I carry but make the most of it. I of course have the Nikon D3300 body with me and appreciate how it has a nice light weight body. After this I carry my standard 55-200 kit lens. I don't shoot long distances too often but it has come in handy as I live in a place where I can go from city to mountains quickly. After this I carry a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 lens. This thing is great and has really allowed me to get more creative especially when doing street photography (talk about getting close!). The thing is also built really well and feels solid when using it. Last but not least I have my nifty fifty f1.8 Nikkor lens. I love working at this focal length and have been pushed to better frame my shots using this lens. Its cheap too so I would highly recommend it!Feedback
Be open for the moment and don't wait to snap. This one happened very quickly, but I was able to get it because I didn't hesitate.
