Behind The Lens

This photo was taken in a hotel in Aberdeen, Hong Kong, in 2013. I was on a vacation there with my wife.
The frame was taken at around 11 in the morning. I tried multiple shots at different times, but this one came together the best.
The light is natural daylight, coming first through a big window leading to a shower and then the shower glass door to the bathroom. This was on the 20th floor or so, and in December.
Just the Fuji X20 I had as a travel camera at the time.
The upside down effect from the beauty mirror, weird "blue sky with clouds" background colors and the mosaic tiling made me take a number of frames. The hotel had other fun places as well, but this one had the best light. I did get rid of the colors, though, because B&W just worked better.
I originally took this as a color image, but B&W processing (with Silver Efex) got rid of the distracting color and gave better contrast.
In my camera bag
Right now, just a Fuji XT-1 with the 18-55 kit lens and the tiny flash that came with it. At the time of this photo, I had just gotten rid of my pro Canon setup for a compact X20, but I got a XT-1 soon. I have not been doing any pro work since I moved out of Finland, so I haven't missed my heavy prime glass pro kit at all. My back thanks me a lot.
It's just a holiday snap. Also, I don't like selfies.
