This is known locally as ‘The Wave’ building. A series of six, 120 metre, silver mesh fabric, scalloped PVC facades span the width of the building. These are lit at night by a changing combination of 472 blue and 472 white lights creating a rippling light show along the fabric. At least thats how it's supposed to work. When I went to photograph the building all the lights were off so it looked dull silver. I eventually managed to find the man in charge and he explained that the control system for the lighting effects had broken. They are no longer switched on as they would have to be lit constantly and it would cost too much to run all night. When I told him I was hoping my photo of his building would be in an international competition, he very kindly switched them all on for me for 10 minutes :-). Thank you very much!
