This photo rocks! I have a similar photo of old Hungarian stuff that was thrown away. Isn't it interesting what ends up being the subjects of photos?

Location
I took this photo somewhere north of Lisbon, Portugal... I don't know exactly where because we were driving around when I saw this abandoned house all covered with trees and bushes somewhere along the road.Time
It was about 4 or 5 PM in summer.Lighting
This abandoned house was completely overgrown, there wasn't much light coming through the window but that was the charm of this photo... I loved to find such an opportunity to take a special photo with such a sad story just along the road we were driving. I didn't use any additional lighting, it was good as it was!Equipment
.I took this photo with my little miracle Lumix DMC-TZ-100, an intelligent pocket camera with a nice Leica lens.Inspiration
My wife and I where driving north of Lisbon, Portugal when I saw an abandoned house with a collapsed roof and completely overgrown with trees, weeds and bushes. I had to do my best to get into the house but it was worth while! Cupboards, clothes, shoes and what ever household articles you can imagine, everyting was laying around. When I saw this drawer with shoes I was realy touched... this was so personal, the shoes in wich the owners of this house walked around...Editing
I did a little post-processing in Lightroom, only to enhance some details but the photo is allmost as it originally was when I took it.In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand photography first...Feedback
To take a photo like this one, you need nothing more than a good eye for detail and a drive to go where others don't go... We were driving around when I saw this abandoned house across the street which everybody else seemed to ignore. Just look around you and be surprised about the beautiful and wonderful world we are living in. I always look around me very carefully to see the details of which the world around me is build up. I try to look through a pinhole, without forgetting the whole picture. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... In this case I decided to take the photo from a low vantage point to focus all attention on the drawer with old shoes in between all the remains of a household that ones was. And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one. Once you get home and open your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I always crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop and edit the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
