Behind The Lens

Location

Liverpool Street Station, London, UK. Date: 23 Sept 2016

Time

If I remember correctly it was about 1pm in the afternoon.

Lighting

It was all (pretty much) undercover, so platforms could be dark in places but a lot of the roof is glass so not too dark.

Equipment

Canon 700D with standard 18-55mm lens, handheld, no flash.

Inspiration

In truth my wife did. I was taking shots of the passengers in the main concourse while she went to look at some shops. When she came back, she told me to go down and look at the views of the platforms as I could get some good shots.

Editing

I shot in RAW, so processed with Adobe Elements 13. I thought it worked better in Black and White, so went down that route.

In my camera bag

I just have my Canon 700d and G11. With the Standard 18-55mm lens and a 75-300 lens for the Canon 700d camera.

Feedback

Listen to your wife when she tells you where to get a good image. Shoot in RAW as you can bring out more details from poorly lit areas than you can when working with JPG's. Bump up the ISO to get a higher shutter speed, so you can shoot hand held.
