This is probably is the most graphic photojournalistic image I have ever captured. I accepted an assignment to provide images to accompany and support an article about ladies who had no family nor where- with-all and spent their last day’s in a state run nursing home. I was very lucky to get access to a state run nursing home in the first place. I met with the director and provided her with a draft of the article an told her I had no agenda other than getting images to support the article. I added that after the shoot I would supply her with proof sheet’s and destroy any negative’s she did not want published on the spot with a paper punch. We destroyed a couple of negative’s but the best capture of the shoot was spared and the lady truly had no family or anything, not even the chair she was setting in, as she waited. Very, very sad. If you feel this image is improper for this venue please say so in a comment Not all pictures are pretty and remember that we all strive to evoke an emotion with our photograph’s.
