Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken from Toronto central island. It is a home to more than 30 fun filled activities and a great attraction for families in summers.

Time

I really admire this picture as I recall it was my first time visiting Toronto central island. I did not have my DSLR on me, so I took it with my phone trying to get as close to the lake as possible using the gravel to my support but finally got close to such magnificent creatures with tremendous background. This picture was taken on September 6, 2016 at 10:14am.

Lighting

I wanted to capture the most diverse city in the world along with these innocent creatures. The timing played an avid role in getting this. The sun was at it's full bloom, giving a perfect contrast to the highlights and shadows.

Equipment

This was shot using a Sony F3113 phone and no other equipment was used.

Inspiration

I was on a trip with my family and while exploring the beauty of island I came to time place and could not stop my self to get down to the level of lake to get close to them and take this picture.

Editing

I usually use Snapseed to process the pictures for a quick outcome. I did the same for this one as well, adjusted the ambiance first and then the contrast with additional sharpness and finally making it black and white.

In my camera bag

Now a days I carry a Canon 80D with 3 lens and a couple of batteries and flash.

Feedback

A photographer's major asset is the vision he has for the world and things surrounding him, then comes in his equipment and the skills he has to use them. I would recommend every photographer to be always in an inspiration mode. If you're willing to be inspired, you'll be able to learn more.
