This photo was taken at the Chatuchak Weekend Market, Bangkok, while my girlfriend and I were exploring the winding side streets in the market. That was when we came across and adorable novelty and souvenir stall that sold special miniature clay figurines. There was a wide selection of little clay models of everything! Food, cutlery, furniture, toilets and even mini shop houses, you name it, they have it.Time
I remember having a wonder clear soup and rice for lunch at a road side stall before resuming our adventures in the winding streets of Chatuchak. This photo was taken on 9th July 2016 at 1.04pm.Lighting
I had a little bit of luck on the lighting for this shot. The shop had these lamps around the display, I decided to turn them towards the display, making it possible for me to lean directly above the it without casting any shadows.Equipment
I shot this on my OLYMPUS EM-10, with the 14-42mm kit lens.Inspiration
Out of all the displays in the stall, what caught my eye the most were the organisation and colours of the miniature vegetable models that they had. The colours were so vibrant and realistic, simply irresistible to not get a shot of. Being so small (each compartment that you see was only about 3 inches across), it was easy enough for me to lean over the display to get this grid-like photo of it.Editing
Other than increasing the saturation settings on my camera slightly to enhance the colours of the vegetables, there were no other post-processing done to this photo. In my camera bag
I would have my OLYMPUS EM-10 with its M.ZUIKO 14-42mm kit lens on and strapped around my neck. An Olympus 40-150mm zoom lens in my bag, along with a couple of memory cards and a spare battery.Feedback
Live in the moment during your travels and be observant of what's around you. Even shop displays can be an interesting subject to photograph.
