Location
I take this photo while i was walking trough the streets of a beautiful Medieval city called Erice, in Sicily.Time
it happens in the afternoon, i was walking with my photographer firiend Marco Fato and then we decide to take this picture frome the tallest and widest position of the medieval castel from were the shoot was taken.Lighting
i decided the time of the day when the mountain shadow covers a wide part of the landscape, and it's entirely visible in the photo.Equipment
i used my Sony rx100 M3. Free hand.Inspiration
This landscape is a portrait of the land where i was born. For a long period of my childhood i saw this "panorama" everyday, when me and my family went in Erice for the holidays.Editing
It required a raw post-processing, not too invasive (i never do). I used Adobe Lightroom for lighten up the shadows, rise the saturation a littel bit alongside with the sharpness. In my camera bag
Only my camera (it fits in a pocket) and the small gorilla tripod. Also a smartphone for eventually add a filler light to the subjects with its flash.Feedback
You have to see the scene over and over if it's possible! if you see the scene more of one time, it becomes different as much as you watch and when it becomes once with you then you can take a good and conscious shoot.
