September was just a week or so away when this was shot, which means autumn is near. It is the time of harvest, and this farmer was one of the first to do so in this region north of Oslo. I bet I was just hours late, as on the other side of the road the farmer was busy harvesting.
This was a warm and beautiful evening with slow-moving clouds and mellow tones, and I just had to stop the car at this location to catch the light and the beautiful landscape with the contrasting green trees against the yellow fields.
In a month or more, the foliage will also turn yellow and then fall to the ground. What ensues is a long, silent and dark winter of rest and hibernation.
