This was taken during a recent trip to the New Forest in the UK. The ponies roam free here and are not owned by anyone, but are taken care of by the New Forestry Commission. The animals are beautiful, healthy and wild. Not for stroking either and most of the time their heads are stuck firmly down amongst the heather and bracken while they fill their faces. The only way to get their attention is to whistle loudly, which I did and this one lifted his head and looked right at me. He reminds me of a unicorn without the horn. This was taken during the evening in the last light of the day, with mist starting to cloud above the heather.
