Over the weekend of my 27th birthday, I went with my family to Galveston island where we rented a house close to the beach. Early Sunday morning, I woke up and took my camera to the beach to catch the sunrise, and I got lucky. This willet was walking in the water ahead of me, and since they tend to run away instead of flying away as you approach, I was able to get a number of shots of him as he walked and I followed. This particular shot was absolutely perfect - his profile was turned toward me, the colorful pre-sun skies were reflected in the water, and my camera settings were just right. This photo is completely unedited.
