Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in my conservatory/ studio due to the weather being too windy to shoot at the location we had chosen. Lucky really!

Time

Taken early afternoon on a cloudy and incredibly windy day. We had aimed to shoot at a local beach but the wind was whipping up the sand too much so we retired to my conservatory/studio to continue shooting.

Lighting

The lighting was all natural daylight with a white reflector underneath just to soften the overhead light.

Equipment

Nikon d5300 and 18-55mm kit zoom lens. The only other equipment was a home made white reflector made out of cardboard and window netting.

Inspiration

Her eyes just drew you in so I wanted to get a soft "boudoir" style shot showing them off to their best.

Editing

Mainly in camera with color balancing and a bit of spot removal in lightroom.

In my camera bag

I travel light so I would normally only have a Nikon d5300 body, 2 zoom lenses (kit) and a pop up reflector as my base kit

Feedback

My advice is always look at your subject, find something special about it/her/him and focus primarily on that.
