School of Jacks Sipadan island Malaysia
One of my favorite underwater shots from Sipadan island.
This was taken on my old Olympus C5050Z way before I even thought of a dslr.
I thought I have another look at this photo.
This was early in the dive, as we descended this school of Jacks came toward me and I just stopped to see what happen, next thing I was surrounded and all the eyes were on me!
One of the best underwater experience I ever had.
Sipadan is the only oceanic island in Malaysia, rising 600 meters (2,000 ft) from the seabed. It is located in the Celebes Sea off the east coast of Sabah, East Malaysia (which is on the island of Borneo). It was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone that took thousands of years to develop. Sipadan is located at the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin, the centre of one of the richest marine habitats in the world. More than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species have been classified in this ecosystem. Sipadan has been rated by many dive journals as one of the top 5 destinations for diving in the world
I try to replicate this shoot one day with my D800 setup.
Need a bit of luck to come across a scene like that again.
Thanks for looking
Norbert
