Behind The Lens

Location

This was along a nature trail near Thornton Colorado. I felt like something was following us. When I looked deep into the trees, I saw the eyes.

Time

Mid morning after an overnight snow storm had passed.

Lighting

Overcast, natural light

Equipment

Nikon D810, Nikkor 200-500mm

Inspiration

When I saw this coyote following us, I knew had to get a picture. It was hard to get a good focus through all the tree branches. I was zoomed in at 500mm. I took about 5 shots before I got this one. Glad he kept looking at me.

Editing

Normal sharpening and exposure adjustments.

In my camera bag

Right now I carry my D810 and a Nikkor 14-24mm lens. A couple of Genie Mini's for time-lapse photography.

Feedback

Don't be afraid to get out into uncomfortable environments.
