I know that this has got to be one of the worst quality photos every put up on Viewbug, BUT these 2 bear cubs were at my sliding glass patio door LOOOKING IN while Mama bear was 2 feet away so there was no way I was going to go up close for the quality shot nor turn on the flash or turn on the light in the family room with only 1 inch of glass between me and Mama bear. So I took the photo using the zoom through a window that definitely needed washing because it was a once in a lifetime moment.LOL!!

I can't blame you. Momma bear will tear apart anyone that messes around anywhere near her cubs so that was a very smart idea. People seem to forget they are not like the cuddly teddy bears you have on your beds. I love this photo and really appreciate your even attempting to take it under those conditions. Viewbug needs to come up with a new award for best photo under hazardous conditions :)

Hi LeeAnn, Thanks so much for the comment. I wish there was a reward for that too. Although I love taking photos of the bears, I hate that I can't get "quality" photos." That one inch glass sliding glass door isn't much protection LOL!! Also, it rains a lot here so if we have consecutive days of rain, it affects the outside of the windows. LOL! So, I'l just keep on doing it the way I do and hope that people who like bears can appreciate that at least I got the photo. Most times, for the bears I use a HD camcorder so I can get their whole visit and not worry about missing a shot. LInda
