I was on Jekyll Island over the weekend with family. Coming back to the South to visit is like waking my soul up after a long nap. I particularly identify with the lowcountry because it's the place where we would escape for family adventures. When I was photographing the island I was drawn to this tree. I've always loved Peter Pan and when I looked up I said to my mother, "So this is what Peter was talking about". I spent a night documenting this tree, finding my way to Neverland through it.
