I took it in my garden at home.Time
In the afternoon as I wanted the purple of the leaves to really stand out against the background.Lighting
I had to use a tripod and slow shutter speed as I was only using natural light and couldn't hand hold the camera.Equipment
Nikon d7200 with a Tamron 70-300m lens with a marumi + 5 filter. Manfrotto tripodInspiration
I loved the colour of petals. Purple is my favourite colour and i was just drawn to the colour of the plantEditing
I increased the contrast and vibrancy. In my camera bag
I have a Nikon d7200 and d5300. With a sigma 150-600 sport lens, Nikon 18-50 lens and Tamron 70-300 lens.Feedback
Don't worry about having a macro lens a long telephoto will do. Just make sure that you use something to keep your camera still as often you will need a slow shutter speed. If you can't use a tripod then hold your breath whilst shooting (it works). Look for flowers that have vibrant colours they stand out a lot more and try and photograph them on calm days of its windy it's a lot more difficult.
