We took this photo at my favourite time of the day, the hour before sunset.Lighting
I am a fan of natural lighting, this one is all lit by the late afternoon sun, positioning your subject in the right spot to take advantage of the light is of course, a good idea.Equipment
Taken with my Nikon 3100 camera, a 35mm wide angle lens at f1.8, no flash or tripod or other equipment.Inspiration
I was inspired by my daughter is who is a very agile dancer, and also by Viewbug for running the ballerinas and dancers contest. Her leap was so good, I also entered it into the levitation contest.Editing
I always check my photos in lightroom, not too much was necessary in this photo though, I think I may have lightened a couple of shadows.In my camera bag

A graceful subject was the most important factor, then I would recommend late afternoon light. A low camera angle makes the most of those leaps, and some contrast in colours between the clothing and background is a good idea.
