Location
I took this photo on some of my families rented land as I was out checking on our calves during a beautiful Midwest snowstorm in Carroll county, IA. This land is special to me as it has always been a special place to e to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. I love the decaying road lined with livestock and tall wild grasses and flowers along with old trees.Time
I loved the way the lighting, snow falling, and the time of day made this photo so hazy yet clear since it was about eleven o'clock and the snow was such a bright white with the sunlight cast on it thru the hazy sky.Lighting
The natural haze and snow backdrop mixed with the bright late morning lighting made the lighting perfect for this shot when combined with the brilliant white snow.Equipment
This photo was shot with my old Samsung WBF1100 camera, no other equipment necessary.Inspiration
I think most photographers see something other just can't see in everyday life. I see beauty in the everyday things around me and try my best to capture it in all it's glory.I loved the way the white snow and falling flakes contrasted against the small red barn, I thought the way the haze and snow falling made the trees in the background fade away was very interesting and mysterious. Maybe another photographer would have a completely different take on this photo.I saw this scene and thought to myself what would others think if this photo? If I didn't know I would wonder "where was this?", "what's down that road?". That's the beautiful thing about photography, it lets you see things in the same way as others but with your own perspective and perception.Editing
At the time I was just beginning my journey and love for photography, so I only edited with the software found on my laptop computerIn my camera bag
Since I have become more involved in photography, I have learned to really enjoy macro shots so I generally have my 90mm Tamron macro lens with me or mounted onto my Canon Rebel t5.Feedback
I think a good snowfall and landscape photo could be fairly easy enough for most photographers to do if the weather cooperates! Using a higher shutter speed, (to capture the snow falling instead of white lines) and using the beauty of nature and angles to the best of your advantage would allow for a beautiful shot by any photographer!
