Behind The Lens

Location

This is Grumari beach, in Rio de Janeiro. This photo was taken on January 2, 2014 with a belly dancer. I am specialized in photojournalism of events and dance shows, having started to photograph in this area in 1997. In 2013 I decided to photograph photographic essays with dancers and later with models. This was my first photographic essay and as such, was also the first in the beach, the first in external etc. The result for me was excellent and I had the pleasure of, without planning, photographing silhouettes of the belly dancer at sunset. From this experience I have grown a lot in model photography and I have always been able to photograph new silhouettes, on the same beach, and always the result is different and rewarding. Esta é a praia de Grumari, no Rio de Janeiro. Essa foto foi feita em 2 de janeiro de 2014 com uma dançarina de dança do ventre. Sou especializado em fotojornalismo de eventos e shows de dança, tendo começado a fotografar nessa área em 1997. Em 2013 decidi fotografar ensaios fotográficos com dançarinas e posteriomente com modelos. Esse foi meu primeiro ensaio fotográfico e como tal, também foi o primeiro em praia, o primeiro em externa etc. O resultado para mim foi excelente e tive o prazer de, sem planejar, fotografar silhuetas da dançarina no pôr-do-sol. Dessa experiência eu cresci muito em fotografia de modelos e tenho sempre que posso fotografado novas silhuetas, na mesma praia, e sempre o resultado é diferente e gratificante.

Equipment

Canon 6D, 28-135mmEF lens, no tripod, no flash

Inspiration

I did not plan to make this kind of photo, it happened by luck and improvisation at the moment. The goal was not silhouette photos.

Editing

Only camera raw sliders: WB, colors, contrasts, exposure, clarity, tone curve, saturation, luminance, split tone etc. No photoshop.

In my camera bag

Typically in photography on the beach I only carry a camera Canon 6D, a 50mm lens and a 28-135mm lens. But it is rare to change the lens during photo shoot .

Practice and study a lot and do not be afraid to try new ideas.
