Happened upon this beauty while walking through my friend's garden in Lenoir, NC. Shot with my Samsung S7. Yes you read that right, a cell phone. Just goes to show you don't need thousands of dollars in equipment to take great pictures.

Location
This photo was taken in my friend's garden outside of Lenoir, NC.Time
Taken midday on an August afternoon.Lighting
Since I was just walking around the garden with the kids picking tomatoes, I relied on the natural daylight. It was partly cloudy so there were no real harsh shadows with the sun overhead.Equipment
Handheld my Nikon D3300, Nikon 18-55 zoom lens fully opened.Inspiration
The beautiful colors of the summer garden made an outstanding backdrop for the deep, silky hues of the butterfly's wings.Editing
No real post production work. Some cropping and a touch of color correction is all. The image already popped on its own.In my camera bag
I am a minimalist. I carry a Nikon D80, a D3300, a 18-55 zoom, a 70-200 zoom, and maybe an SB28 in case I need a little extra light.Feedback
Be patient, look at the world around you, and most of all, enjoy the process of taking pictures.
