Location
This portrait was taken in Budapest, Hungary. It's a quiet old photo, at this period of my photo-career I tried to improve my portrait-knowledge by practicing on TFCD-basis.Time
For the portraits usually the best period is around sunrise or sunset, when there are no hard lights and hard shadows. This photo was taken a little bit before sunset, thatswhy the nice shine on her hair.Lighting
With the portraits I used to try to be as natural as possible, so I didn't use any flash, just the natural light.Equipment
I used my beloved Nikon D7100 (which was my second DSLR) with a NIkon 50mm/f1.8 lens. The ISO is 100, aperture is f/3.2, and shutter speed is 1/250.Inspiration
Well, this will be disappointing...I just saw how nice the sunrays are on my model's hair. In most cases when I go out to the nature to take portraits, then I don't like to overthink it, I'm just trying to find nice lights and nice composition.Editing
Of course every photo needs some post-processing. On this one I just did the basics, like adjusted the highlights and the shadows, and removed some acnes from the model's face.In my camera bag
Well it really depends on what I will shoot. For the outdoor portraits I always try to pack lightly. Since this photo, the contents of my bag changed a lot, now I use Sony instead of Nikon, and my A7III is more lightweight than my D7100 was. I always have my Sony 85mm f/1.8 with me, and my Tamron 70-180 f/2.8. Sometimes if I go for "fun-shooting" then I also pack my Helios 40-2, which works like a dream with the Sony A7III. If I bring flash and softbox with me, then it's always better to have an assistant who carries and handles them.Feedback
Yes. Go out, and shoot. And if you are a beginner photographer, then practice a lot and be critical with yourself, always try to find out how you can improve your photo.
