Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at a jetty in the town of Bremer Bay Western Australia. You may have heard of Bremer bay as it has featured alot in the news due to the find of a canyon 70 km's off the coast ; here is a link to the information http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-02-12/bremer-bay-canyon-biological-hotspot-apex-predators/7162880.

Time

It was taken on 10 th August at 5:14 pm ; the sun was just starting to set. It's getting to the end of winter here in Australia; although it is warming up it's still raining heaps and heaps!

Lighting

No just the right time of day. I have very basic equipment ; one day I'll get a speed light and a 300mm lens :-) No flash ISO 100 Exposure 1/40 sec F 5.6

Equipment

canon 650D 55 - 250mm lens

Inspiration

I love wildlife and nature, so anywhere I go my camera comes with me and I'll go in search flowers , landscapes and animals of any kind !

Editing

A very small amount in LR 4 . I try to keep things looking exactly as I saw them.

In my camera bag

Canon 650D twin lens and extra battery. As I said I'll get a bigger lens and speed light one day!

Feedback

Don't make loud noises and be sneaky like a cat! I started at the end of the jetty and snuck up in small increments; as you can see by the look in their eyes they were keeping me in view; the second one looks rather grumpy! I think for the shot I was crouching. I also find that f 5.6 seems to be the sweet spot on my camera.
