Behind The Lens

Location

Thank you for considering my photo it truly is a great honour. I took this photo a few years back at home in the Wicklow mountains on the east coast of Ireland.

Time

From what I can remember it was taken early in the day at the weekend. It was taken in 2016.

Lighting

It was naturally lit through a large west facing window beside the kitchen table.

Equipment

This was shot on a Sony SLT-A37 Aperture 40/10 ISO 2500 Shutter 1/160 Focal length 240/10 no tripod

Inspiration

The little boy in this picture is my partners grand nephew named Ryan who calls to visit us on the weekends, and a cheeky dog who just happens to be the perfect height to slide her head onto the table and attempt to hypnotise who ever is unlucky enough to be trying to eat at the table. Ruby was a red setter and as gentle a sole as you are likely to meet. We sadly lost Ruby this past Christmas after living a full and happy life in the Wicklow countryside with us for 14 years. So it's really nice that we are talking about her and through the joys of photography able to immortalise her along with a cheeky kid who is getting bigger as the years pass us by all too fast.

Editing

I went for the black and white look as I felt it worked well with the natural light on the day.

In my camera bag

Just my camera and a couple of lenses.

Feedback

Just go with the flow and have fun.
