The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary has always been on my bucket list. The Indonesian Tourism Ministry actually made this dream a reality for me! After hearing the stories about the monkeys (Balinese long-tailed monkey, AKA Macaques), I was a little reluctant when walking into the sanctuary. But as soon as I entered the forest, all of my preconceptions disappeared. My experience was amazing, monkeys everywhere, many of them carrying their babies, being close enough to touch them, and an ancient temple in the middle of the forest.
