Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was done in a small Studio. 6 x 4 m, white walls, while the wall behind the model had been covered by black fabric.

Time

Whenever you want, just push up the f-stop and the ISO down to have a pitch black picture in "M-Mode", f. e. f/8, ISO 100 in a darkened room.

Lighting

The lighting was done by a single striplight with inner and outer diffusur and a 5 x 5 x 5 cm grid, with a direction to the left of the camera side.

Equipment

Nikon D700, 70-200 f/2.8 and a Elinchrom DLight it 4 with a 120 x 30 cm stiplight

Inspiration

I like all sides of this wonderful life, even the backsides. :-) Seeing and showing the beauty of the female body within a photo where you can enjoy the beauty of the shape is a wonderful way of showing so much, while showing "nothing".

Editing

Yes, of course, I have darkened the background a little bit to 0/0/0 in RGB, converted it to black and white, and played a bit with the contrast sliders. That's it.

In my camera bag

D810, D700, Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8, Zeiss 21mm f/2.8, 2 to 4 Speedlights from Metz (48 and 58 AF-1), PocketWizard Mini-TT1 and Mini-TT5s, Lastolite TriFlash, Umbrella and a 50x50 Softbox, Polarizer, Lee 4 & 8 ND, Small and Big Stopper, Tripod, cable release, Gaffa,

Feedback

There's nothing special. Just position your striplite opposite to the camera to have a flat angle to the model, and keep some attention to not have light spilling into the cam (grid). That's it.
