I took this photo during a spare of the moment trip up to the Gallinas Mountains near Las Vegas, NM. There is not much to do in my little hometown so i spent most of my time wandering up into Gallinas.Time
My favorite season of the year is fall and this photo sums up why! It was around 3pm in the afternoon and I was wandering around one of the many Gallinas camp grounds. I look up at this beautiful tree with its bright yellow leafs. Before I knew it, I was laying on the ground, capturing this moment.Lighting
The angle the sun was at on this crisp autumn day made the leafs look alive with the vibrant yellow leafs. The hint of green in some of the leafs was almost non existent to the naked eye.Equipment
This is one of the first photo trip I took with my new Nikon D5300. I was laying on the ground looking up, camera firm in my hand. The sun was giving perfect lighting, no flash needed!Inspiration
The beauty we have all around us is amazing. When you stop, lay down in the middle of nowhere and look up. It brings everything into perspective. This tree didn't see too big until I was below its massive branches, admiring what mother earth has given us! Fall is such an amazing time of year. The colors, sights and sounds my heart full.Editing

Usually, I just hit the road with my camera around my neck and a full tank of gas! If I do bring along other equipment it is my 200mm lens and my tripod.Feedback
Don't be afraid to sit still. Take a moment and look around you, in your immediate area and take it in. You can find beauty anywhere you look, you just have to have an open mind and open heart.
