This photo was taken in my yard in Henderson Nevada. We have two hummingbird feeders, which we keep full; so they visit every day and like to just sit and hang out in our trees.Time
This shot was taken in the morning just after golden hour when the sun was still low in the sky. I love taking pictures in the morning when the air is crisp and the animals are waking up and calm. Hummingbirds love to relax on tree branches while taking in the morning sun.Lighting

I hand held my Nikon d810 camera and used the 70-200mm lens. I also used a uv filter.Inspiration

This photo didn't need a lot of processing. I cropped and centered the image. I wanted a full length portrait and thought it would look better centered as opposed to the standard rule of thirds.In my camera bag
In my Nature Bag: I carry the Nikon d810 camera in a Jan Sport Backpack with whatever Lens I am working with already attached to the Camera. I also carry nd filters and Polarising Filters, a remote trigger release for timed exposures, and a Me-Foto Tripod (sometimes). I generally do not like to change Lenses outdoors and only carry the lens I will be working with already attached. In my Studio Bag I have the Nikon d810 Camera Film Maker's Kit with 35mm, 50mm and 85mm Lenses included and additionally I have the 70-200mm short Telephoto Lens all stored in a large Nikon Camera Bag when not in use.Feedback
I used the 70-200 mm lens extended all the way to 200 which allowed me to get close, without getting too close to scare her away. When looking for animals to photograph; I wear quiet shoes and am quiet, so I don't scare the animals. My favorite time to photograph wild life is in the mornings after sunrise and in the afternoons before sundown. I used a fast shutter speed to compensate for any camera movement (heavier Lens), since I was hand holding the camera. Having hummingbird feeders in our yard really helps a lot since they come to us and like to hang out in our trees. To find where they are at, I listen for their voices and look for them in that direction. The more you hang out with them the more relaxed and friendly they get.
