I took this photo of a swallowtail butterfly in my back yard. I plant zinnias in our flower pots for the very reason that they attract butterflies and hummingbirds.Time
It was a long time ago but I try to take most of my shots early in the morning or later in the day but butterflies and hummingbirds show up pretty much all day. I think this picture was around 9 am.Lighting
Best time for lighting is up to an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset. The subject gets drenched with light!Equipment
An Olympus E-M10 camera with a 75-300 lens.Inspiration
I am always on the alert for opportunities to take wildlife pictures. The inspiration is sharing my photos with other enthusiastic photographers. A great picture also makes a wonderful gift for family and friends.Editing
I am a point and shoot photographer. Most of my pictures are not processed. Other than zooming in on them what you see is what you get!!In my camera bag
I keep it simple. My Olympus E- M10 camera with a 14-42 mm lens and my 75- 300 Olympus lens. It's a great starter camera kit for amateur photographers.Feedback
Just have fun and be ready with your camera at all times. I'm on the road alot and my camera is always in my truck. I live in Colorado so the opportunities for running into wildlife are endless!???? Keep on shooting and sharing the pictures! Thank you viewbug and everyone who shares their talents. It's a joy to see so many talented photographers!!!
