Behind The Lens

Location

On the Li River in southeastern China

Time

This was taken just before sunset. The cormorant fisherman was casting his net out in a marshy area along the river bank.

Lighting

I was looking to get a silhouette of the fisherman while getting the net to light up with the setting sun

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon Mark iii and a Canon 24-105 L series lens. It was hand held

Inspiration

The sunset over the Karst mountains and the iconic fisherman of this region

Editing

Processed in LR to achieve the tones I was looking for in the sky and on the fisherman

In my camera bag

I always carry the 16-35, 24-105 and 70-300 L series lens with my Canon bodies
