This picture... i actually FEEL the movement of teh boat, the twisty feeling one might get trying not to be seasick, lol. It brought to mind the wreck of teh Edmund Fitzgerald before the storm that overtook it. Well done!!

Location
This photo was taken on board an Norwegian medium sized fishing boat. We are here south of Iceland in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Its quite windy, a big storm is brewing.Time
Late in the evening, the sun is about to set just right of the frame. There was a storm building up during the afternoon.Lighting
All natural light, blueish in the shadows and a hint of the last rays of the sun before it sets.Equipment
Canon EOS 1ds Mark II, strapped to the bridge inside the boat. Important that the camera never moves during exposure. A exposure time of 1 second in this case. I tried different shutters, to get just the right amount of blur/movement in the waves. I probably tried 20-30 different shots, before i got this one..Inspiration
I wanted to take a stills image, that had the feel of motion, so I tried out different shutter speeds, because I want to get the right motion blur of the ocean waves. I was critical to keep the camera 100% still during exposure..Editing
Very litte. Enhanced the boat deck, just a little lifting of the levels. Increased the contrast in the sea. That about it..In my camera bag
Today, I have a canon 5d camera mark2, with 24-70, and 70-200 mm lenses, a small flash with softbox, a tripod, remote release, a pola filter, and a range of ND filters. I also bring along a 100 mm macro lens. Sometimes a big and heavy tripod, or a small lighter one.Feedback
Camera has to be sturdy fastened. And very important to have patience, try different shutter speeds, and wait out the elements, so that water and boat go nicely together..
